In the old-fashioned world of commonsense, honesty and decency, nothing was unobtainable,
except political truth. Let's face it, if politicians were/are believable,
why are they at the bottom of the least trusted list? But in today's politically
oppressed environment you're not allowed to be truthful because it inevitably
upsets the vested interest brigade, eg., those that depend upon public ignorance.
Politicians, lawyers and the justice system employees are the classic
examples of dreamers peddling the leaden sky of arrogance to the public. Never
mind the actuality of reality. What the judge says goes, is the obituary of old-fashioned
truth. Remember the blindfolded lady balancing the scales of justice,
or was she tipping the scales to her own advantage? A slightly different
version of the Civil Service Mentality rules the roost? The current persecution of Auckland ex cop and lawyer Chris Comesky is the classic example of stamping on truth before the public realises what is happening. Mr Comesky made a political mistake by criticising the justice system for its obvious faults. Therefore, to vindicate themselves, his nameless superiors have decided that Mr Comesky must be taken down a peg or two. It's simply not acceptable to have a high profile defence lawyer criticise the justice system that employs so many dead-heads and otherwise unemployable people at large (great, massive, totally ridiculous) public expense. In the unscrupulous halls of justice, silence is golden along with fingers pursing closed lips. The balance of justice must be advantageous to officialdom, or what is the point in a system that thrives upon their personal excellence and commitment to integrity? There must be deserving respect for those egotistically demanding consideration (and public money) as a matter of appreciation. Many years ago I watched a judge thump his fist and demand he be treated with the respect he considered his status deserved. I recall whispering to the man sitting alongside that respect must be earned and doesn't come as a matter of course. He snorted indignantly and it wasn't till many years later I realised he was an ex cop who had ignored commonsense, honesty and decency and wound up in jail for twisting the truth to suit his version of events. He had demanded that his blue jacket be respected by the lower class peasants. Naturally his fellow prisoners gave him the respect he deserved. A broken nose and a few kicks in balls were regarded as eminently respectable. Being respectively honest, I didn't realise that revenge was eternally and sublimely justifiable. Isn't it nice how things change for the better? Sadly Mr Comesky will be sacrificed to save the face of those bleeding the justice system. They simply cannot have a loud-mouthed brown skinned ex cop shouting that the justice system it's corroding the truth. After all, years ago Court Jesters wore pure white sheep wool wigs, not brown goat hair. Their ancient traditions must be respected. How dare Mr Comesky state the obvious? Truth is simply not viable in the land of Money Incorporated. But naturally, in the name of justice they will go out of their way to prove that he's not exactly white. After all white is pure, and tainted brown is not quite the same, eh Boy? ps. In my lifetime I have employed eight lawyers for primarily mundane tasks. One was competent and treated me with respect but unfortunately wound up in jail for fraud (gambling). The other seven were completely incompetent, very much overpriced and if not dead, are still practising legalised theft. Stuff the justice system! I'm thinking of buying one of those high-powered slug guns to administer justice. The neighbour's cat is raiding my birdbath. |
