The Charge of the Stupid Brigade
"Sound trumpets!  Let our bloody colours wave!  And either victory, or an early grave."       King Henry the Sixth.

To predict that the world is heading for disaster, one only has to reflect the past.  Sadly,
mankind never seems to learn from history.  Apart from Mother Nature's little flings, man has been the cause of billions of untimely deaths.  Perhaps we shouldn't take things too seriously because we're all going to die anyway.  But we insist upon killing our fellow man, largely because of religious or political beliefs.  Ask yourself.  Have you ever seen a religion that tolerates another sect or a politician with commonsense?  If you have, you're living a dream and if you haven't......... welcome to the real world.

The older I get the more disillusioned I become.  Naturally I created problems when I was
young but I've learned to moderate my behaviour over the years.  Women were a dime a
dozen and I could never run very fast.  I toured the world doing stupid things and suffered the inevitable consequences.  Now that I'm in the last third of life, the women are still readily
available but normally I can't be bothered.  It's only the lack of dimes that creates minor
problems.  Living in New Zealand's temperate climate and owning a vegetable garden, I can grow enough food to survive to a reasonable standard.  Meat is generally cheap and wine is a great opiate to dull reality.  Similar to the rest of the world, Kiwis are suffering from an overindulgence of premeditated political domination.

I hang my head when I see my neighbour struggling to pay the bills.  She's only twenty years
old, has a young baby and an ex boyfriend that calls occasionally and spends his time
shouting 'get real, you stupid bitch.'  She can't get a job and lives on welfare.  Payday is
Thursday and by Monday she's broke.  I help out with vegetables and have shown her how to grow a few for her baby.  The NZ social system has done little for her and she's the second generation of her family to live on welfare.

It's sad to watch her lack of progress.  By looking at her past I know she's going to
experience a variety of partners and wind up with many children she will never be able to
raise in a decent manner.  There's little to stimulate her mind and her future looks dismal.

The education system is designed to turn out compliant people to be employed in dumbed-
down jobs.  It's called Godzone's economic miracle.  It suits the politicians and business
people to have a pool of underemployed to keep the wages down.  NZ wants to be a high
skilled yet low paid country.  Half a brain tells you that doesn't work.  Those with
qualifications and talent disappear overseas.  There is very little manufacturing to employ
those who aren't geniuses, profit is heavily taxed and disappears offshore.  One wonders why social disaster is officially regarded as an economic miracle?

Kiwis are subject to endless propaganda that all is well and unemployment is the lowest in
many years.  I wish it were true.  Unfortunately we're expected to be stupid enough to believe the propaganda.  We have unnecessary government departments increasing in size, largely because the employees will vote for the current government.  It's another version of compliancy.  Politicians are deliberately enforcing regulations designed to make society as thick as two short planks.  They won't listen to objections and ignore the fact that history dictates you can't change human nature.  Senseless laws are promoted when logic says that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Change for the sake of change isn't progress.  It's total stupidity. Progress must be based on sensible solutions using historic precedents proven to work.  Not political arrogance designed to placate a non thinking population.

New Zealand is not markedly different to other parts of the so called civilised world.  Luckily
we don't have terrorism or government sponsored violence.  No politician has ever been
injured by citizens but if they keep pushing their luck, civil disobedience will eventually
transpire.  Hopefully not in my lifetime.

Speaking of historic precedents.  My neighbour is a good looking wench and waving at me
from her window.  Here we go again.  I blame human nature.
