The dumber the better |
"Life could be much better if the "experts" had ears." Broughton If you are seeking employment in New Zealand, you're more likely to succeed if you play dumb. The dumber the better. Brains are no longer required and you will find that constructive thinking is against official policy. All that is required is numb-skulling stupidity to obtain a job providing the average wage. It's sad but true. The days when life experience, honest, decency and commonsense were essential, are over. For example, government and local councils will not employ anybody with an IQ above 85, or so their employment policies would indicate. In NZ the average IQ is103. This leaves Mr Average to the rigours of private enterprise. In the last thirty years, apart from bureaucrats, just about every traditional public service has been privatised. Even the school system is financed by the bums on seats principle. One bum equals x amount of dollars in the school bank. Kids are educated to a standard of political and business conformity that personal initiative is destroyed. Independent thinking is not on the curriculum. Employers don't want gumption, all they require is mindless consistency. Hold screwdriver in right hand and twist screw three times to the right. Everything is simplified to such an extent that the enquiring mind is numbed beyond belief. Somewhere in the background there's 'a number in his eyes' accountant, putting dollars before commonsense and intelligence. The age care sector is a classic example. Low pay, increasing workload, total responsibility for ailing elders and no future prospects without a piece of paper to show you have been brain washed. The so called bright kids leave school, attend university, qualify as business administrators and leap into middle management without experiencing life's essential trials and tribulations that make adults out of children. They know which software program to use but don't understand the impracticalities of the dictatorial money based policies. Payday is payday and that's all they are trained to see. They haven't experienced the lustiness of life. I watched a highly qualified teacher preach to a class containing six social misfits who ignored his sound advice, threw books and stormed from the room whenever they wanted. Afterwards he admitted the lesson was a waste of time, but mindless conformity was expected of him. He shrugged and said, what else can I do? The unthinking school management is dictated to by bureaucrats without practical experience and that's that! The law is the law. End of argument. The bureaucratic system of pointless aggression wins and the kids lose. NZ schools are about dollars, not practical education designed to enhance the pupils life skills. As a result, the lack of discipline and the low standard of understanding caused by plummeting literacy standards, the number of social misfits are increasing. Youth crime is rife and the politicised police force lacks the resources to cope. Illicit drug use is an every day occurrence, while physical sports are back-numbered and teenage obesity causes concern. Greasy fast foods sustain their young lives and most couldn't cook a balanced meal if their lives depended upon it. Which of course they do. The politicians decided that social engineering was the answer, hence political conformity, and dictate just about every aspect of today's social behaviour. Normally things that are irrelevant. The sage, older people, ignore their mindless edicts and carry on doing what they have been doing successfully all their lives. They treat the politicians with the contempt they deserve. Hence, increased political violence is on the cards and mayhem will be the inevitable result. Life is not lived by political or commercial conformity: it's lived by honesty, decency and commonsense based upon humane standards that have stood the test of time. But I guess there's a law against benevolence and personal enterprise Sadly, all the politicians do is dream up more stupid and impractical laws. I guess that's why the rational, politically incorrect Kiwis are leaving the country in droves. No doubt this will also be illegal in the foreseeable future. |
