The Privileged Few |
The honesty of NZ politicians is again under suspicion |

"Authority forgets a dying king." Alfred Lord Tennyson. 22/11/04: Helen Clark, the NZ Prime Minister, has shot her bolt. Her credibility is at an all-time low. The arrogance of assumed political truth has caught up with her fantasies. At the moment she's in Chile kissing political asses and trading NZ jobs for a deal with China. The Trade Unions are up in arms and quite rightly so. 'Wake up Prime Minister. You're at the bottom of the list of people we trust. Please take note. We the people, don't want to be a little America. We don't like the lies and self justification that go with a dictatorship. We don't like the mindless bureaucracy inflicted upon us by those with the collective IQ of 80. We want to be left alone to live our lives the way we see fit. So butt out of our lives, lady.' The PM has lost the much needed Maori vote with the unwanted foreshore and seabed legislation. The concept that the state owns the seashore is greed personified. The tide will continue to rise and fall long after man is extinct. So does it really matter who owns the coastline? We have always had free access to the beaches, nothing has changed, so what is the legislation all about? The anti smoking legislation in bars is simply copying overseas trends. Prohibition of human nature has never worked in the past. One only has to remember the American booze prohibition era after the First World War, to realise that crime pays very well for those with imagination. The unemployment created is senseless. The same number of people will still die of cancer, so what is to be gained? One can almost bet that one million smokers and bar owners won't vote in favour of a PM that tries to change human nature by ignoring reality. The lies being told by those in favour of the smoking ban are almost beyond belief. There's bountiful evidence from overseas that the bans are largely ignored. They seem to think that everybody is completely stupid by claiming that the bans are working. Burying one's head in the sand doesn't work. You can deny truth to yourself but you cannot deny the same truth to others. We have NZ's leading newspaper, after exhaustive investigation, claiming the SIS (Security Intelligence Service) has a number of secret operatives who object to spying on law abiding citizens. Amongst others, the new Maori Political Party formed by the backlash against the foreshore issue has been targeted with telephone and computer bugging etc. The SIS was looking for 'dirt' in their personal lives that could be used to shut them up if necessary. This is a vile misuse of power. But politicians ignore the law when it suits them. Naturally the PM denies the allegations. Did you really think she wouldn't? I just happen to know two SIS spies and they drunkenly admitted that they had bugged my computer several years ago. They were only following orders and found nothing that could be held against me. Apparently, my only crime was writing articles pointing out political abuses in NZ. My patriotic object was to make NZ a better place for New Zealanders. But I guess the truth offended certain politicians with hidden agendas. Truth has always been their worst enemy and having reality published worldwide was unacceptable in their eyes. I'm afraid that the end is nigh for the PM and her coalition government. Apart from the obvious abuse of power, the political pendulum is swinging against a Labour Party that falsely claims to represent the average person. National is the only other viable party but quite frankly. The leadership stinks of privileges for the rich and to hell with the workers. In the last few years poverty has increased hand over fist in NZ, despite political claims that the economy is booming. I have found that politicians of all persuasions tell lies to justify their own agenda. After all, when you're in a position to create laws that make truth illegal. How can anybody prove you're a liar? |
