Peace in the Valley
"Gold will be slave or master."    Horace.

If we want peace in the valley, we must first ensure that those camped on the surrounding
hills have good intentions.  Too often they take their lofty position as
God Given.  Thus, they feel self righteous in dictating their desires to the peasants and help themselves from the pot of honey created by the lowly.  Inevitably they stock their beehive with stolen goodies and live a life of relative luxury while the peasants starve.

For whom the bells toll is not for the God Given.  Tis for the poverty of the sufferers that feed
the desires of the head in the clouds brigade.  The poor will always be with us but poverty is
not a crime.  Hounding and stripping the poor of their possessions is the major cause of
poverty.  Perhaps  "Don't Cry for me, Argentina" is a reminder that the
God Given will not
survive without the goodwill of the lowland peasants.  The high and mighty cannot earn a
living without scrounging, for they lack the ability to grow food or create wealth.  They
posses no practical skills and would starve in their beehive of absolute power absolutely.

They drearily intone that the peasants must accept their lot in life and that they, the
God
Given,
will do their best to alleviate poverty by generously rolling the drained honeycombs
down into the valley.  Force is used to subdue dissent and only those that say nothing are
given the leftover dregs of mountainous opulence.  They create untold laws that the wishes of the
God Given take precedence in the font of life.  The poor are poor because of intelligence shortcomings and the God Given cannot be blamed for God's will.  They will do their best but it will be necessary to place a 12.5% Goods and Service Tax (GST) on drained honeycombs to sustain their generosity on a continuing basis.  It will also be essential to confiscate 39% of the peasant's produce to enable them to pay the loans to the money lenders that subsidise their lifestyle.  It's only logical that to sit around and dream up ways of living off the fat of the peasant's land, should be subsidised by such a tax.  The laughter of the courtesans can be heard far into the night.  Such debauchery is justified because the peasants are the ultimate beneficiaries of their divine intelligence.

Cigarettes and alcohol used by the peasants to kill the pain of poverty are taxed almost
beyond belief.  The
God Given cite that such luxuries are health hazzards and must be
eliminated to prolong life in the hilltop beehive of the
God Given.  Thus, the peasants will
benefit in the long run through the trickle down effect.

The peasant's oxen used to plow their fields emit flatulence and pollute the landscape with
smelly droppings.  Another health hazzard to be eliminated by consumer taxes.  20% plus the GST 12.5% of droppings must be collected and delivered on high to ensure survival of the grape harvest.  Wine is a stimulant used by the
God Given to create measures that ensure the peasants continue to pay taxes so vital for their survival.  It's only fair in the scheme of things.

The peasant's land taxes increase yearly.  They occupy the fertile land, so it's only fair that
the
God Given receive a percentage of their productivity.  Tis written in stone and
democratically right and proper that the rich get richer.

Over the years the excessive faeces from on high trickled down into the valley and caused the peasants to mount their oxen and travel to a faraway valley rumoured to be Eldorado.  The surrounding hilltops were said to be covered with handsome trees and the fertile valley would support life in abundance.

Without the peasants supplying food and wealth, the
God Given starved to death in a matter of months.  At last there was peace in the valley.
