Licence to Practice Politics

"All one needs for a just society is to remove the unjust from power."     Broughton It's amazing what a little wine can do for the thought process.  Coupled with commonsense and determination, miracles can be achieved with only a few glasses of vino.  Hic!  Have you noticed that in the so called advanced societies, the better your academic qualifications, the higher up the ladder of success you can crawl?  In today's world, intelligence, gumption and experience mean very little.  The ability to worm and agree with everything the boss says is a prerequisite to corporate advancement.  Bureaucrats are the classic example.  But the worst cowboys have always been the politicians.  They assume the mantel of superior intelligence and yet no scholastic qualifications are required.  To be elected to office all one needs is a big mouth and the ability to lie while keeping a straight face.  The sheer cupidity of the Jackass Mentality voters will do the rest. My proposal is simple.  It would have to be for politicians to comprehend.  If one has the desire to stand for public office, I suggest that suitable qualifications be a legal requirement.  Bureaucrats need not apply as recipients of the public purse take too much for granted.  Only people with the urge to advance society will be accepted for a six month full-time course in commonsense, honesty and decency.  To avoid those wanting something for nothing, no student loans will be available.  This will ensure only those with imagination and foresight will enroll.  Imagination is far superior to knowledge and foresight will encourage the thought process.  Sadly, thinkers are back numbered today because they don't always agree with mindless political correctness, and those that can't see past the end of their self aggrandising plans for their own advancement. The tutors will be drawn from honest professions such as writers, prostitutes and cab drivers. They live in the real world and know what's needed to correct the false assumptions of today's politicians.  They will drum into the students heads that lies are not acceptable.  Full truth is essential, not the political convenience of economical truth.  The common people pay all the bills, so their opinions must be the basis of all laws.  No laws giving total power to governments will be permissible, because as we all know, corruption is the inevitable result. They will be taught that all bureaucracies are vastly oversized and must be reduced by at least 50% to reduce taxes to levels affordable to all people.  The realisation that all religions are acceptable and equal.  Miliary expenditure will be stopped as the main reason they exist, is to protect the government from their own people.  Thus invasions of other countries will also stop.  No militaries, simply means no more wars and the money wasted causing death can be used for health and commonsense education.  Humanity is the winner. On completion of the course and assuming the student pass the 95% grading, a licence to practise politics will be issued.  Then the successful student can stand for election.  Those that fail will usually find jobs ticking little boxes and staring out the window to fill in the time before going home suffering from metal exhaustion. Once elected to office, a committee of public appointed non political citizens will monitor every political move and public statement.  If lies or dubious actions occur, the licence to practice politics will be immediately cancelled and the politician unelected and prosecuted.  This is the same therapy today's politicians dish out to their citizens.  Except now the boot is on the other foot.  All that's needed is for the public to learn how to kick hard.  Remember the old adage that practise makes perfect?
