The lessons of history have been ignored in New Zealand. A once viable country is going down the same path as Hitler's Nazi Germany of the 1930's. It's not by accident, but deliberate design.

Politicians have known for thousands of years that they need about two-thirds of the
population to bury their heads in the sand, to rule successfully. The tongue and cheek names of the two-thirds have changed over the years from the Moral Majority to the Jackass Mentality.

The political rules are simple. First create something that will scare the people into believing only the government can save them from disaster. The safest way is to pick on a minority. Hitler picked on Jews, homosexuals and gypsies. NZ politicians have picked on smokers and Maori.

Then use public funds to create a pack of lies. Any lie repeated often enough will
automatically be believed by the Jackass Mentality. Hitler used beer halls, radio and his verbal skills to get his message across. NZ has used TV and the newspaper media. The methodology has changed but tactics remain the same.

Hitler blamed his minorities for everything and the public ignored the death camps as they were nothing to do with them, it wasn't their fault, therefore they didn't exist. The Jackass Mentality in NZ will agree with everything as long as it doesn't affect them personally. They were conned into believing that the 25% smoking minority were a health hazzard. Hence the banning of smoking in bars and restaurants.

Reality indicates that people have been dying of cancer since the human species evolved. Tobacco is only a few hundred years old but it was a handy excuse. The propaganda machine boomed and smokers became social pariahs to be treated with contempt. They were responsible for everything that was wrong with society. 'Hear Hear,' echoed the Jackass Mentality who rarely visit bars, 'get rid of them and we'll vote for you. We don't like our clothes smelling of smoke.'

As the original occupiers of NZ, Maori naturally claimed an interest the land. The Foreshore and Seabed Bill gave the government complete ownership of the beaches. The brown skinned Maori are a minority and the public were told the land would be protected from Maori land claims. Majority rules etc. 'Yeah Yeah,' echoed the Jackass Mentality, 'it's democracy in action.'

Since homosexuality was legalised in 1986, the current generation of Kiwis have taken gays for granted. The Civil Union Bill which legalises relationships between gays and defacto couples was designed to buy their demographic support. The reducing education standards, designed primarily to discourage thinking and ensure compliance with official edicts, has simply reinforced this posture

The astute reader will realise that the same con game has been repeated many times around the world and is currently reemerging in many places. History shows that all oppressive empires collapse from internal division. Hitler's Germany and Russia were classic examples. The same will happen in New Zealand. It's merely a matter of time.

The current political rulers in NZ are not interested in the welfare of the people. Their sole desire is to retain power. They consider they know everything, deserve to rule at the people's expense, thus lies are to their advantage.

History also shows that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. As always, the losers will be the Jackass Mentality.
