ETS

Once upon a time there were commonsense, honesty and decency. Then some halfwit invented politics and the world's been sliding backwards ever since. For example, take the latest political foolishness designed to exploit the current global warming farce.

Take note! There is no such thing as global warming caused by the actions on mankind. Global warming is caused by Mother Nature gnashing her teeth at having her creations reduced by politicians stealing her achievements to enable them to build monuments honouring themselves. Note the Egyptian pyramids and the Beehive in Wellington. And let us not forget the Backbenchers Bar across the road from the Beehive. I remember when it was the Wellington Tavern and run by Lion Breweries whose monumental headquarters were just up the road.

Over the years Lion got rid of all it's pubs and sold most of its shares to overseas investors in commemoration of political greed. Most of New Zealand's large manufactures have done the same. So why politicians want monuments to remember their contributions is indefensible considering that all political careers end in failure. But such is life in the Lane of Arrogance? Maybe that's why Lady Justice wears a blindfold?

Personally, I fail to see why I should pay a cent to the proposed Emissions Trading Scheme ETS). Considering the only emissions I make are of a personal nature and I don't sell them on TradeMe, why should pay for a trading scheme I'm not using? But I guess everything will be blamed on mining, or lack of it, or too much of it.

I recycle everything and don't create rubbish to leave on the footpath for the wind to blow away. I grow my own vegetables by mining my backyard minerals and encouraging them to grow edible products with compost recycled from previously mined elements. I only flush the loo after enjoying number 2, thus saving hundreds of litres of water and use a small proportion of the water saved to moisten my vegetable mining plots. I save literally hundreds of thousands of litres of water annually. I drive the smallest car I can fit into and collect the mail from the letter box after a twenty-five foot get fit tramp. Red wine provides acres of Omega 3 to ensure I live long enough to get a return on the taxes I've paid over the years. I don't smoke mined weeds because
my garden centre doesn't sell pot plants. My health is reasonable considering my advancing age and everything still works the way things are supposed to work (I can still raise my fingers at fools).

Because of my self-imposed constraints on using wasteful things, I consider I have contributed enough money and other accreditations to be awarded a Natural Mining Degree in Global Cooling plus 15% GST (Grand Scale Theft) increase on the old age pension I've paid for 100 times over.

Well Mr Politician, are you willing to listen and act upon the advice of somebody who has contributed more to this planet than you ever will? Or do you presume to know more than everybody else? Don't forget that sooner or later you will be unelected because of your ridiculous actions. The ocean's tides go in and out twice a day and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. So don't pretend that your ETS ripoff will change the world, because it won't. Your so-called ETS is nothing more than theft, and making theft legal doesn't make it honest, nor will it alter normal temperature fluctuations.
